This place was beside a field of royal.  (Kwaung)

That 's why another name of this temple is '' Hua - Kwaung ''.

Sean Muang Ma king was build this temple to be a main temple

for Lanna royal in that time.

It has completely Lanna Modern architecture and Pagoda has 
quite similar with Phra That Doi Suthep's pagoda.
