Why do we have Temple ?

90% of population in Thailand are Buddhism that mainly is Theravada Buddhism. 
we accept all teachings of ''Gautama Buddha'' or ''Prince Siddhartha'' 
who lived in India more than 2600 years ago.

After Load of Buddha death,2 groups of monks have difference opinions. 
First group need to keep all rules and all teaching base on the original one 
and it was spread to south area of India such as Sri Lang Ka , Myanmar , Laos, Thailand.

Another group they try to create flexible ways. It was spread to North area of India such as China , Tibet ,Korea , Japan. That's why temple in Thailand was unique 
and different from what you have seen before.

                                                                               

       Thai people believe in '' Karma '', If we do good things, once we are dead, 
we will go to heaven. But if we do bad things ,once we are dead, we will go to hell.

   But Actually , Success of Buddhism is “Nirvana” where we no need 
to born in circle life again.

Peolple believe that support Buddhism is a main of good karma.
That is the mainly reason why Thailand has 41,205 temples today.

(Chiang Mai has 1,314 temples)

Our kingdom administered by the King since the kingdom was

founded. King support his people to respect Buddhism too. That ‘s why the basis of our culture and tradition is based on Buddhism.

In addition temple is also a center community for people in each area. 

we concern with temple for a whole life. In the past, If we want to learn 
how to read, how to write. we can learn at temple. 

That 's why nowadays school always locate beside the temple.If people death.

we did ceremony for dead people in temple. We cremated dead people 

in the area near the temple.

Even Thai traditional massage is also origin from temple.
