What is the Temple ?
Temple is a public place, normally open the gate at 06.00am-06.00pm.
* You can take picture everywhere that we visit today.
Thailand have 2 main types of priest who live in the temple.
“Monk”- Male, age 20 years or more who lives by the 227 precepts
“Novice” - Male, age 7-19 years old who lives by the 10 precepts.
Normally they wake up at 04.00am. Begin their routine with chanting 1-2 hours.
After that at 06.00am, they do “Pindapata” that is walk to receive food offerings
from Buddhist.
The main role of them is to learn all about Dharma and teach to people.
Base on our culture we love party and we always drink alcohol. Once we drink alcohol,
of course, we can break all of precepts.
That is a bad karma. Anyway, we believed that we can do something good to balance
our karma.
That's why you can see Thai people try to support Buddhism all the time.
Buddhist give respect to "Rattana Tri" or "Triple Gem" means the three holy gems which consist of :-
1) Buddha Gem ,Lord of Buddha
2) Dharma gem, The teachings of the Lord of Buddha.
3) Sangha Gem, monks who are ordained in the Buddhism.
That is the reason why Buddhist always do worship for 3 times.
of course, we can break all of precepts.
