Cham Dhavi is a name of queen who is a first ruler of Haripunchai kingdom where was build 1,343 years ago. ( Older than Lanna Kingdom)
According to legend, it has two hermits, Wasuthep and Sukatanta Hermit, who are close friends.
One day, both of the hermits draw the ground with a shell shaped and then inviting people to build city together
that made a town called "Nakhon Hariphunchai"After that two hermits went to invite Queen Cham Dhavi who is daughter of the king of Lavo kingdom, from Lop Buri to dominate Lamphun.
Queen Chamadhavi was highness governed the country for prosperity in both trade and trade.
Religion, art and culture Especially in terms of the restoration and construction of the temple,
Phra Nang Cham Dhavi has been doing continuously.Because she has a strong devotion to Buddhism.
That is rough origin of Lamphun province. Small city locate in south of Chiang Mai. ( 45 minutes by car)
It is small province that has a unique identity where we should go to explore :)

What are we do about road trip to Lamphun ?
we will start do a road trip in the morning. we go ahead to Lamphun province on '' Ton Yang Road ''
that has a big old tree (150 years) more than 1,500 trees along the road to our destination. (20 Km.)
You can enjoy nature and life style of local people along the way in the same time.
First destiantion, we will visit unseen temple that is one of the 5 most beautiful in Thailand.
San Pa Yang Luang Temple has exquisite stucco carving especially '' Khiew Khong '' Vihara
where is the place of the Jade Green Buddha or '' Phra Khiew '' which is taken from the Mekong River.
This temple was discovery since 1458 years ago. In side Pagoda has relic of Buddha's Apostles
''Sariputra and Mocha Callana ''. This temple is also used as a place of cremation Queen Chamadhavi.
Then,we move to visit '' Ku Chang-Ku Ma '' where is stupa of Queen Chamadhavi’s war elephant
called Phu Kam Nga Khiaw which means dark skin and green ivory. It is a powerful elephant.
Once going to war Just facing an enemy elephant can weaken the enemy.
Due to this magical power If pointing ivory into any direction will cause disaster and people will die.
That is the reason why they build a tall stupa with the ivory pointed to the sky.
After that we drive around old city to enjoy a simple life of Lamphun people together and enjoy lunch like a local.
In the part of Afternoon, we gonna learn about the ''Legend of Phra Rod'' at Wat Mahawan and go to make wish and take a nice shot picture at Wat Chammadhavi.
Highlight of the day, we will visit Phra That Haripunchai temple where is signature of Lumphun.
The pagoda is belong to people who born in the year of rooster that inside has a hair of ''Guatama'' who is Lord of Buddha. You can learn about unique and valuable architecture through this temple.
we gonna walk 3 rounds clockwise and ring the bell to be worship pagoda for great merit, fortune and prosperity.
Time to say good bye to Lumphun ,we leave back to Chiang Mai city with a good memory of this trip.
